Monday night we had a club assembly and focused on what we can do to educate ourselves. We will be having a session with Merv soon on the website and then will look at mini sessions at the beginning of our meetings and also discuss questions that members have raised.
We talked about the five areas of focus with our Frankston Mornington Peninsula Community Group which are:
Homelessness
Mental Health
Interplast
Music Enrichment Program
Environment – RORP – Greenlink and planting projects.
This week we will be hearing from Lily Setnik, President of Mornington Peninsula Rotaract, and a number of her team. We are really looking forward to hearing about their activities and projects
.
Tuesday we have the community day in the village and will be sizzling sausages and promoting our Christmas baubles. Hopefully we will get some takers to decorate the baubles.
Please remember to bring any donations for Cambodia and also we welcome any toothbrushes and toothpaste for the Rotaract project.
We will also be finalising our attendance for next weeks visit to Alexandra Park and also our visit to Parliament House, Melbourne on Monday 14 October. Please advise Peter Rawlings of your attendance for both these events if you haven't already. Thank you.

Monday 30th September Meeting – Celebrating PDG David Crane’s 50 Year Rotary Service
We would encourage all members and their partners to attend where possible, as we celebrate with PDG David Crane and Margaret, David’s 50-years of Rotary service. We will also be given a guided tour of the new facility after dinner.
On Monday at the Club Assembly, an attendance sheet will be circulated, so please complete that – or please email Peter Rawlings with your attendance.
Dinner costs will be confirmed in coming days, however at this stage we are likely to enjoy a choice from two roast dinner meals and dessert for around $30 per head. Drinks at bar prices.

Cambodian Container # 1 (CBC1) is planned to load at the normal location, rear car park of the New Peninsula Baptist Church in Mount Martha on Saturday October 19, 2024 to start work at 8.30AM
then onwards to Sihanoukville (Shipping Port) then Siem Reap (Final Destination) in Cambodia.
We have twelve (12) playgrounds located in storage, which are repaired, cleaned and stacked on pallets ready to relocate to the container

Cambodia RAWCS visit
Merv and Chris Williams have registered on a Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) Volunteer Team to Cambodia.
The team consisting of 15 Rotarians and non-Rotarians will be travelling to Cambodia and will be assisting at two RAWCS Overseas Aid projects at community and children’s support centres in Phnom Penh and Seim Reap. These centres provide food, education and medical supplies to the street children.
As part of assisting these centres, the team members have been requested to seek donations of goods which will be taken over in our luggage and distributed to the children at these centres –
New Children’s clothing – size 0-10 – preferably shorts & T shirts.
Toys (small) which would actively benefit the children ie tennis balls - Pencils, writing books, erasers - Tooth-brushes & toothpaste.
Any donations would be appreciated, and we will have a collection box at our September meetings.

Hot on the heels of our successful participation in the Mock Interview program at Balcombe Grammar we have been asked to participate in Padua College’s Mock Interview program for their year 11 students who are studying Work Related Skills in their VCE Vocational Major.
The date suggested is THURSDAY 24th OCTOBER from 11.30 till 3pm.
