Rotary Mount Martha this week

Last week President Peter kicked off the Projects Night announcing that we had received $2,500 from the Community Bank Mount Martha for our Village BBQ's.

We also had approved our Christmas and Easter Community Gatherings grant from the Mornington Peninsula Shire. The Peninsula Wide - Containers 4 Community video was also viewed.

Also mentioned was the news that the International and Youth Committees can now enjoy the use of the Stratton Room for their committee meetings on the first Monday of each month.

Anne spoke about the success of the Quinns shoe sale and spoke about the upcoming MM Fire Brigade visit and MHSN event.

Wayne updated us on all things community including the BBQ trailer maintenance,  RORP and the planned purchase of a RORP forklift.

Rob provided us with details on the latest C4C partner, The Dava Hotel.

Kevin was thrilled with the recent turnout from the club for the Briar's Tree Planting and thanked those involved.

Mark updated the club on the Ingin Midwifes Hut and discussion he has had with Wendy from Heartprint, Cambodia. He also invited all members to join the International Committee meeting on 3 August to hear from Jo Lovelock.

Peter Wiltshire shared with the club an update on our Youth projects, including Balcombe Grammar projects in the pipeline. Also mentioned was RYPEN which will be held at The Briars Camp in September, and the proposed Primary School Community Service Awards.

This week RORP purchased a forklift to enable forklift licensed Captain RORP Wayne to maneuver the stored playgrounds in preparation for container loading. Thank you to our own Greg Buchanan and Russell Poole for their part in assessing this new acquisition - which has been named “Burt”!

MM Village BBQ 1.8.26

We were absolutely delighted to run a Mount Martha Village BBQ this weekend in support of Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) Mornington.

We raised $726 and thank the Community Bank Mount Martha for generously sponsoring the event.

Thank you to the Community Bank Mount Martha

BGS Mock Interviews

On Friday Mount Martha Rotarians participated in Balcombe Grammar's Year 9 Mock Interview program.

It was a wonderful experience again with the students performing very well. The school and students were most appreciative of out support for this worthwhile program. Thank you to Mark Dobson, Su Ai, Wanjia Chen, Bernie Meehan, Jill Cummins & Tom Barrett for making themselves available. Also, thank you to those who volunteered but were unable to make it on the day due to illness.

Padua College Interviews

Padua College Year 12 Professional Portfolio Interviews

Once again Padua College has asked for our support for their  VCE Vocational Major Students Portfolio Interviews. These year 12 students are looking at finding employment rather than going on to university. There are approximately 50 students to be interviewed. The interviews are scheduled for Tuesday September 15

Start and finish times would depend on the number of volunteers we get. If you are able to assist for any part of the day could you please let Phyl Scales know as soon as possible by text message on 0419138187 or by email at phylscales@yahoo.com  Phyl won't be at Rotary meeting this month due to other commitments so a text or email is the only way to contact her. As always she would really appreciate your support in assisting these students.

Padua College Year 11 Mock Interviews

There are 30 VCE Vocational Major Year 11 students to be interviewed on Monday October 19 from 11 am to 1.30pm

Once again if you are available for this program could you please let Phyl Scales know by text message on 0419138187 or by email at phylscales@yahoo.com
