Bentons Square BBQ 7.2.26

Our BBQ team raised $353 at Bentons Square on Saturday…

… with thanks to Lindens Fresh at Bentons for their generous donation of the sausages and to Bentons Square Shopping Centre for their ongoing support.

Community Service Committee

 

Last week the Community Committee met, with discussion around the trailer maintenance with a new battery to be purchased. 

RORP's next load out is tentatively planned for 7 March to head to Cambodia with Captain RORP Wayne continuing to do an outstanding job. Thank you Wayne.

Discussion was held relating to our events from December and January including another successful Village Christmas decorations and then the Mount Martha Life Saving Club Nippers Carnival and Australia Day events which will be further discussed at tonight's meeting.

Our club has officially been given the community oversight of the flagpoles at Mount Martha in support of the MPSC.

We are delighted to have been awarded a further $5,000 from the Community Bank Mount Martha towards the Containers 4 Community Project.

Work has been done at Rotary House with some further plans ahead.

Discussion around upcoming BBQ events including Friday 6 March where many hands will be needed for the Welcome BBQ at Mount Martha Primary School between 2pm and 5pm. (A sheet will be handed around this week and next to garner help for the afternoon).

We also note Barrie Sweeney reached another birthday milestone this past week and wish him our best wishes.

Rotary Overseas Relocated Playgrounds (RORP) currently we have nineteen (19) playgrounds on pallets in storage at the Shed.

The next container will now be heading to "Heart Print" in Siem Reap, Northern Cambodia.

Youth Service Committee

 

On Monday evening the Youth Committee met with a focus on the Musical Enrichment Program, Quinn's Place and the Welcome BBQ planned for Mount Martha Primary School on 6 March.

This week we will be hearing from Su Ai our most recent new member and John Harvey from Mount Martha Lifesaving Club.

We are also looking forward to welcoming visiting Rotarians Erin and Ryan Dobesh from Nebraska USA.

 

There will be a Membership meeting at 4.30pm and an International meeting at 5.30pm on  9th February. 

Ray Martin has been making great headway with the Birthing Kits project.

Next week we will be having representatives from Mornington Park Primary School which will be at The Mornington Hotel.
