From President Anne
Last week we heard from Past District Governor Paul Mee who spoke about Australian Rotary Health (ARH) and the amazing work that is done particularly in the area of Mental Health. Much work is put into research particularly in the area of mental health in children, working to create resilience for their lives ahead.

On Tuesday a delegation of Rotarians attended the community consultation on the boardwalk and presented our case.
On Saturday we headed to Mount Martha where we presented our final recipient Daymon Glenister from Ritchies IGA Mount Martha who was recognised for his great work ethic and customer service. We thank Barrie Sweeney for his organisation of this years Pride of Workmanship awards.
The village was buzzing and we were there with the sausages sizzle which was sponsored by Community Bank Mount Martha. We were taking gold coin donations for the Mornington Community Support Centre Christmas hampers, where we raised $489 from the donations which was a fantastic result and a reflection of the community’s support for what we are doing!
We had BGS Interact President Tin Tin and friends from Balcombe Grammar singing Christmas songs which brought a special magic to the village.
Santa was in the village organised by Warlimont & Nutt and was bringing much joy to the children and adults alike!
We even had the Mayor, Councillor Anthony Marsh join us for a while, Gary Sanford from CBMM and Fergus Nutt from W&N, and over the day I saw 14 members of our club supporting our activities.
Baubles were sparking and there was no doubt that Mount Martha has an active Rotary Club.
We sold almost all of our remaining cakes and puddings.
Rob Davies was there with the Containers 4 Community trailer and then he and Wayne Jenkins installed the new Mount Martha Village Cage behind the clock tower.

Rotary Mount Martha Community Service Award
Primary School Community Service Award
The inaugural Balcombe Grammar Primary School and Rotary Mount Martha Community Service Award was presented to Year 6 student Fletcher Reaper during the Presentation Assembly held on November 26, 2024.
Peter Wiltshire, Director of Youth Service, awarded Fletcher for his exemplary commitment to the principle of "Service Above Self" throughout 2024.
Fletcher’s Contribution to Community Service**
Fletcher Reaper has exhibited a strong dedication to community service and environmental stewardship through a variety of initiatives. As a Dolphin Ambassador, he collaborated with his peers on projects that included tree planting, beach clean-ups, and wildlife education. His commitment to teamwork is further demonstrated by his involvement with the Mount Martha Tennis Club, where he played a key role in achieving multiple grand final victories.
In addition to his local contributions, Fletcher actively participates in the container deposit scheme and has engaged in beach clean-up efforts in Fiji, reflecting his passion for reducing plastic waste and protecting the environment. As a CORE Year 6 Student Leader in 2024, he enhanced his leadership skills, culminating in the successful organization of the Primary Colour Run event.
Fletcher's efforts exemplify the spirit of community service and environmental responsibility, making him a deserving recipient of this significant Rotary award.
Next week we will read about the Secondary School Awardee.
Congratulations to Fletcher Reaper, CSA Awardee
