From President Anne

It was a wonderful experience hearing from Honorary Member Rachel Gray on Monday. We heard about how she loves structure and vision. She has been an inspiring mentor for the Balcombe Grammar Interact Club and she spoke about the students who wanted to make a difference, how they work together and listen, share and respect each other.

Rachel spoke about how valuable the inter generational relationship has been very beneficial.

This year the Balcombe Grammar Interact Club has  raised $764 for the Mornington Community Support Centre food drive and an amazing $6,522 for Wheelchairs for Kids.

Rachel Gray provided an inspiring message!

Rachel told us about her grandparents Fred Guy OAM (a Rotarian for 25 years) and Mary Guy OAM and their legacy and values. They lived a life of community service with Mary raising over a million dollars for the Hamilton op shop. On Mary’s 80th birthday she said to her grandchildren “I never want to hear that you are too busy “. Such a powerful message!

We were thrilled that President of the BGS Interact Club TinTin Clinch was able to join us.

Rachel was presented with a caricature by Rotarian Bill Goodwin to honor her amazing contribution.

This week we have no committee or club meetings due to the Melbourne Cup.

Please note in your diaries our “Christmas Night” on Wednesday 17th December at Donato's - partners and friends welcome!

BBQ Mount Martha Village 1.11.25

Such a busy morning and Mount Martha Primary were there in force, including Principal Karen and President Dan. The school had advertised the BBQ to their families and they came in droves. We even had to buy more sausages, bread , serviettes and sauce. A record taking for a Village BBQ of $1160!

Anne and Susan were passing out baubles for the Mount Martha Village Christmas Decorations.

Padua College student interviews 28.10.25

By Student Interviews Champion, Phyl Scales

Thank you to Mark Dobson, Kaye Stokes, Jill Cummins, Bernie Meehan, Michael Jones, and Peter Rawlings, who gave up their day and joined me for this most worthwhile program.

On Tuesday 7 volunteers from RC Mount Martha participated in Padua College's VCE Vocational Major Mock Interview Program. The year 11 students were a friendly and engaging group who interviewed well. Our volunteers thoroughly enjoyed meeting such a wonderful group of young adults and are looking forward to participating again next year.

Warlimont & Nutt have very kindly displayed this poster in their window in the Mount Martha Village.   It denotes all of our project distributions for the 2024-25 Rotary year. What a story and impact! Thank you to Fergus and team for your ongoing support.

Rotary Traditional Christmas Fruit Cakes and Puddings.

The club is once again selling Christmas cakes and puddings. Those who purchased cakes previously know how delicious they are!

The Christmas cake project is a project of Rotary Darwin South in District 9560. Rotary Darwin South donates the profits to The Rotary Foundation - and Rotary Mount Martha will be credited for the amount that we raise.

Rotary Mount Martha will make a small amount from the sale of each cake which will go into our club account.

Cakes come in a reusable tin for $22 or in a box for $20, and they will make a great gift for Christmas!

If you would like to order, then please contact Phyl Scales - phylscales@yahoo.com or text 0419 138 187 - and payment details will be advised on receipt of your order.
