Rotary Mount Martha this week

Vale Barrie Sweeney PHF

It was with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of our active and esteemed Member, Barrie Sweeney this week.

Barrie was a special friend to many of us and a genuinely wonderful and active Rotarian over many years of service.

He first joined Rotary Keysborough back in 1979 and joined Mount Martha in 1999, serving as our club Secretary in 2015-16.

Barrie had suffered ill health in recent years and whilst his passing comes as a shock, Barrie is now at peace.

Barrie's funeral will be held at Tobin Brothers, Esplanade, Mount Martha on Friday 10 July at 2.00pm and Roger Annear will lead a condolence motion when we next meet as a club on Monday 13 July.

Our sincere condolences to Lorraine and their sons at this saddest of times.

RIP Barrie.

Barrie Sweeney PHF

The food was delicious

The dinner that preceded the Changeover formalities was attended by over 100 Rotarians and guests.

District Governor Peter Behm thanked Anne Shaw for her three year term as Club President and then inducted Peter Rawlings as club President for 2026-27

Peter presented Anne with a card of thanks for her service from those attending our changeover

Peter gave an acceptance speech acknowledging the many Rotarians, organisations and community supporters who help make things happen!

The new 2026-27 club Board was presented with past President Anne, Secretary Byron, President and Treasurer Peter, President elect Mark and Directors Wayne Jenkins and Bernie Meehan.

Sue from Blackbird Cafe, Mornington and Anne were thanked for their preparation of the magnificent food provided for the occasion.
