Inducting a new member into the club is always a great event! Jill Stanszus will be a great Rotarian and great asset to the Youth Committee, please get to know Jill.
Our guest speakers were Kath Lord, Principal and Stacie McCullough, Vice Principal from Mornington Park Primary School.
First we heard from Kath who had been a student at Mornington Park Primary herself and she has been at the school for 26 years. Kath talked about the dual stream of mainstream and Steiner learning with 210 students and 10 classes. The school provides a breakfast club every day and a mini bus pick up which Kath and Stacie operate, they also provide lunch and uniforms for students.
Kath told us that the school has many ongoing needs and how grateful they are for any support. There is always a need for facilities improvements and plantings enhancing the school grounds. We heard how the University of the Third Age helps with providing inter-generational reading.
Stacie explained the “Little Learners Love Literacy and how our clubs support has provided a new wealth of fiction and non fiction literature.
The vegetables garden our club created is going well and the bike shed is full, the sensory spaces are a great asset.
You couldn’t help but leave feeling that these two educators went so far beyond the norm to offer their students the best possible opportunities.
The school motto sums it up!
This week our Board Meeting will commence at 5.30 pm and our meeting will be a project meeting chaired by President Elect Peter Rawlings.
A Celebration of Life for Wayne Trevor Norris will be held at 10am on Wednesday 25 February 2026 at Tobin Brothers, 604 Esplanade, Mount Martha.
