Our speaker last Monday was Diane McDonald from Southern Woman’s Action Network SWAN.
SWAN have been involved in social activism for more than 28 years.
SWAN was founded by a group of Mornington Peninsula women looking to learn more about justice issues facing women and working together to bring about social change.

Sunday 26th January, Australia Day and what a day it was!
Many thanks to Peter Rawlings, Roger Annear and Rob Davies for organising the flag raising ceremony which was attended by Zoe McKenzie MP, Chris Crewther MP, Cr Anthony Marsh and so many of our wonderful volunteers and community members from across Mount Martha.
We particularly thank the Community Bank Mount Martha for sponsoring the volunteers morning tea.
The amazing TinTin Clinch, Interact President from Balcombe Grammar led us into song with the National Anthem and "I am Australian".
I was so proud to be representing Rotary, volunteers and the community and as I said I am proud to be an Australian, a descendant of the first fleet and to fly our flags high!

Over at the Mount Martha Life Saving Club we were setting up at 5.15am for another incredible event with the MMAD swim.
We served exactly 100 egg and bacon rolls to the volunteers and went on to sell all the food we had on hand, which was plentiful.
We raised substantial funds which we will look forward to discussing with the life saving club what their needs are.
To all our members who came to support the club, thank you so much! Special thanks to Hillview Quarries for their generous sponsorship of the event and to Nick Roberts for the use of his special trailer.
