"Mount Martha Rotary is a group of dedicated volunteers who believe in service above self and building community. We are involved in a diverse range of activities that strive to improve life for others."

Ingin PNG midwifes hut
The team loaded the materials and organised transport, with the truck arriving in Komea village around 7:00 PM.
From there, the community’s response was incredible. Men, women, and young people carried materials on their heads and shoulders. They transported 40kg cement bags, roofing sheets and other materials trekking through the dark across mountains and into the valley using only a few handheld battery torches. The materials arrived safely by 9:30 PM and were secured at Poppy’s House.
Despite facing prolong hot, dry weather conditions, Timothy and the team have worked around the clock to keep Phase 1 moving forward. The community has dug out the site by hand, and collecting additional river sand, stones, and rocks has been tedious, labor intensive.
The sheer joy and dedication on the ground show just how much this maternity hut means to the people of Ingin. Thank you for making this possible. I will keep you posted as I receive further updates from the ground, Moses
Timothy and the Ingin team began site preparation yesterday after working through the weekend.
The team have done a great job engaging the community and preparing for the arrival of materials from the hardware store.
Nepal Flooding Disaster Relief Fund
Donations can be made to support those impacted by the Nepal Flooding. Funds are held by the Rotary Australia Relief Fund, a RAWCS charity.
Funds go to Rotary projects and Rotary Clubs in Nepal working with affected families and communities.
They are not asking for much. Clean water. A tarpaulin. A first aid kit. A little cash so a family can decide for themselves what they need most.
Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) is helping them keep going. Working with trusted partners on the ground to get donations where it is needed.
Conservation Covenants - Have Your Say
Mornington Peninsula Shire is inviting community members to have their say on a proposal to place permanent legal protection over four special bushland reserves through conservation covenants:
Betty Clift Conservation Reserve, Rosebud
Lorna's Triangle Bushland Reserve, Bittern
Peninsula Sands Bushland Reserve, Rosebud
Woods Bushland Reserve, Tuerong
Interested in exploring these special places? Join one of the free guided walks during September and learn more about the reserves firsthand. Walks commence on 3 September, so be quick to secure your place.
This week our Community, International and Youth Committee's are meeting.
Next week our Membership team will meet at the Mount Martha Fire Brigade at 5pm prior to our dinner and visit to the fire brigade from 6pm.
Padua College Interviews
Padua College Year 12 Professional Portfolio Interviews
Once again Padua College has asked for our support for their VCE Vocational Major Students Portfolio Interviews. These year 12 students are looking at finding employment rather than going on to university. There are approximately 50 students to be interviewed. The interviews are scheduled for Tuesday September 15.
Start and finish times would depend on the number of volunteers we get. If you are able to assist for any part of the day could you please let Phyl Scales know as soon as possible by text message on 0419138187 or by email at phylscales@yahoo.com Phyl won't be at Rotary meeting this month due to other commitments so a text or email is the only way to contact her. As always she would really appreciate your support in assisting these students.
Padua College Year 11 Mock Interviews
