Rotary Mount Martha this week

This past week our Community, International and Youth Committees met, and at our Projects Night on 17 August we will receive updates from our committee chairs.

We are so grateful to the Mornington News for producing this story about Rosie Italiano following her Paul Harris Fellow recognition in June. Congratulations Rosie!

Mornington News 4.8.26

Rotary Mount Martha donations

We were extremely grateful to receive $5,000 from the Mornington Peninsula Shire this week as a Community Support Grant for the Mount Martha Village Christmas and Easter Community Gatherings.

This week we also provided $400 of vouchers to Quinn's Place as a result of the recent shoe sale.

FMP Community Group 9.8.26

President Peter was joined by Bernie, Anne and Mark as we joined our FMP Community Leaders Nigel and Ann, District Governor Emma, DG elect Murray and Presidents and club leaders from across Frankston - Mornington Peninsula.

We are seeing greater collaboration amongst our Rotary - Rotaract clubs, through various youth and community projects and a greater sharing of ideas.

BGS Mock Interviews 31.7.26

Following are photos from the recent Balcombe Grammar Mock Interviews, produced with permission.

Mount Martha Village Flags

One of our Rotary Mount Martha duties within the Mount Martha Village community is to oversee the two flags on the corner of Watson Road and Lochiel Avenue.

With the frequent wild and windy weather off the bay, we find that we need to replace the flags at this time of year and again ahead of Australia Day.

Roger and Peter were delighted to install and fly the new Australian and Aboriginal flags this week.

Padua College Interviews

Padua College Year 12 Professional Portfolio Interviews

Once again Padua College has asked for our support for their  VCE Vocational Major Students Portfolio Interviews. These year 12 students are looking at finding employment rather than going on to university. There are approximately 50 students to be interviewed. The interviews are scheduled for Tuesday September 15

Start and finish times would depend on the number of volunteers we get. If you are able to assist for any part of the day could you please let Phyl Scales know as soon as possible by text message on 0419138187 or by email at phylscales@yahoo.com  Phyl won't be at Rotary meeting this month due to other commitments so a text or email is the only way to contact her. As always she would really appreciate your support in assisting these students.

Padua College Year 11 Mock Interviews

There are 30 VCE Vocational Major Year 11 students to be interviewed on Monday October 19 from 11 am to 1.30pm

Once again if you are available for this program could you please let Phyl Scales know by text message on 0419138187 or by email at phylscales@yahoo.com

The Briars

Our own Kevin Gibson, a long standing volunteer at The Briars is encouraging members of our club and the wider community to consider these opportunities.

What's coming up….

This Monday 10 August we will be meet at The Mornington Hotel and hearing from our own John Waterhouse on “The Human Body”. Thank you John for stepping up with short notice and we are looking forward to hearing from you on Monday.

Also, a reminder to check the RCMM events for up coming BBQ rosters - with Bunnings BBQ this Friday.

H5 bird flu

As Australia is currently dealing with our first mainland detection of H5 bird flu in wild birds, Kevin Gibson our Environment Chair has asked us to be aware but not alarmed.
