From President Anne

Last Monday week we had  Ross Kilborn (Rotary Mornington) and Lyn Johnson (Mornington Community Support Centre) speaking on the KNights Project, a new 7 unit emergency housing complex in Mornington.

An incredible model of what can be achieved and an important development to assist with the homelessness crisis on the Peninsula and potentially beyond.

We heard how our club can be involved with decorating and updating the units to give these people a sense of hope and pride, a new start!

We welcomed visiting Rotarians from Rosebud Rye, President Adele Mee and Libby Wilson.

This week is a club assembly and we will be discussing future projects and more on our project driven club method of raising and gaining agreement to our clubs goals going forward. I look forward to seeing you there!

RORP Update

Finally our container, CBC2 is enroute to Siem Reap, Northern Cambodia with fourteen playgrounds plus those components from Cape Town, giving HeartPrint (Australian Charity / Peninsula Rotary 2.0), a total of eighteen (18) playgrounds to install.

Our next container is scheduled to depart in November 2025 destined for Bougainville.  This will be Bougainville's second container administered by Nellie from Frankston Rotary.

RORP has been allocated nineteen (19+) playgrounds from our Municipal Councils for the 24/25 financial year, so another constant period for RORP.

Rotary Frankston turns 75, 17.5.25

What a superb celebration and milestone for Rotary Frankston and a great showcase of some of the projects this club has been involved in currently and over many years.

President elect Nellie Tinga gave a presentation on the Play Laugh Grow project acknowledging Captain RORP, Wayne Jenkins, RORP and Rotary Mount Martha. It brings a lump to the throat when you see the video and photos of the children playing in the newly installed playgrounds in Bougainville!

Congratulation to President Bill Redfern and all involved.

BGS Mock Interviews 26.6.25

Balcombe Grammar is asking for our assistance again this year for their Year 9 Mock Interview program. The interviews will take place on THURSDAY JUNE 26. We are asked to arrive around 8.15 and should be finished about 1.30. Morning tea and a delicious lunch are provided. (Please indicate if you have any dietary requirements.)

If you can help please let Phyl Scales know via email at phylscales@yahoo.com or by text on 0419 138 187.

This is a great program. We meet some wonderful young people and further strengthen our relationship with the school and local community so I hope that many of our club members will participate. If you haven’t taken part before, don’t worry as we do the interviews in pairs and the “old hands” will help you.
