"Mount Martha Rotary is a group of dedicated volunteers who believe in service above self and building community. We are involved in a diverse range of activities that strive to improve life for others."
This past week was our Committee's week and thank you to all who attended and for your valuable contribution.
We had a big weekend with a Village BBQ, a huge Containers 4 Community collection and a team was on hand to cook bacon and egg rolls for the Mental Health Safety Net with their special event at Mount Martha Life Saving Club on Father's Day.
On Friday 12th September, we are heading to Quinn's Place to cook dinner for the young people and to give them some insight into what Rotary does.
Wayne Jenkins has also put out a request for support for Barrie Sweeney in the running of our Pride of Workmanship for 2025. Please speak to Wayne if you can help.
I thank each one of you for your dedication to helping others in our community.
This week we will be hearing from Cathryn Leonard, Rotary Mount Eliza, on the Musical Enrichment Program which takes primary aged students to Hamer Hall to experience the magic of classical music. An FMP Community focused project of the Rotary Club of Sorrento.
Rotary Mount Martha this week
With the help of Mark, Sharon, Jill and Peter, we were joined by Penny and Marshall who were representing Fusion. It was one of our best Village BBQ's, raising $967 for Fusion. We thank the Mount Martha Community for their generosity.
Our thanks and acknowledgement to the Community Bank Mount Martha for sponsoring the BBQ, which in turn provides a greater benefit to Fusion. Thank you!
The dedicated team on Father's Day supporting the Mental Health Safety Net at Mount Martha Life Saving Club. Phyl, Wayne, BillC, BillG, Bernie and Ron served over 80 delicious egg & bacon rolls to the hungry crowd!
A massive haul from the three finals at the Alexandra Park Pavilion, collecting 3,581 containers with Mark, Bill, Kevin, Colin, Ron, David Wheeler, and Lyn and Peter all doing a fine job as Bin Chickens.
Thank you to Wayne Jenkins for hosting us this week as we cleared and cleaned the Trailer BBQ. The morning tea was tasty as always!
Rotary Traditional Christmas Fruit Cakes and Puddings.
The club is once again selling Christmas cakes and puddings at thee same price as last year. Those who purchased cakes previously know how delicious they are!
The Christmas cake project is run by Rotary Melton Valley in D9800 who donate profits to The Rotary Foundation - and Rotary Mount Martha will be credited for the amount that we raise.
Rotary Mount Martha will make a small amount from the sale of each cake which will go into our club account.
Cakes come in a reusable tin for $22 or in a box for $20, and they will make a great gift for Christmas!
If you would like to order, then please contact Phyl Scales - phylscales@yahoo.com or text 0419 138 187 - and payment details will be advised on receipt of your order.
Orders will close on 30 September. Thank you!
