On Monday we had acting Mayor Paul Pingiaro and CEO Mark Stoermer as our guest speakers with the topic being Community Capital Projects.
We started with an update about Ranch 2.0 from Ross Kilborn ( Mornington Rotary), this has been an incredible Community Project and stands as an amazing example of what can be achieved when a community works together.
Paul and Mark spoke about how the Shire is working to change the culture and encourage and facilitate community capital projects.
The example of the car park at Alexandra Park Pavilion was given which saw the car park completed for just over $50,000 instead of the hundreds of thousands of dollars such a project would normally cost.
We really had a great discussion and were pleased to have Gary Sanford from Community Bank Mount Martha to join in with the challenges faced by so many clubs and organisations who could potentially be getting community grants. Our desire to do projects at Dunns Road reserve was reiterated and our commitment to the board walk. We were pleased that the CEO is willing to do a walk with Wayne Jenkins along the damaged section.
I believe that there really is hope in this area. Community Capital Projects are vital for our club and our community.

Mornington Sec Coll breakfast 19.6.26
On Friday we had a team of early risers at Mornington Secondary College cooking up bacon and egg rolls for the breakfast club and by 7.45am we were ready with 120 rolls ready to go. They certainly were appreciated and the school was very supportive erecting a marquee to give us an under cover area.
We are proud of the support we give to Maddy Collinge and the well being team for the breakfast club and we thank Sharon Forrest for taking on the role of liaison person with the school.
RORP load 21.6.26
Thirteen Playgrounds packed and off to Buka in Bougainville this Tuesday.
Many thanks to all of the RORP Folk, and also to the backstage supporters that made this happen.
With these thirteen playgrounds, the total District 9815(S) playgrounds for overseas kids now stands at 105 units! from District 2015 (S) (9820) alone.
We hopefully will now experience a little rest, as the next known harvest is not until sometime in July.....and it's a tiny unit from Frankston. (ZEX Lipton).

On this beautiful winters day, we raised $2,220 at the Bunnings BBQ to support our Rotary Projects.
Well done to our three crews this weekend.
Portsea Camp site visit 19.6.26
The Portsea Camp will be running, supported by Rotary Sorrento and our Frankston Mornington Peninsula Rotary Community Group - four “Make a Difference” camps next year to provide opportunities for disadvantaged students to attend to help strengthen their well being and to reclaim their childhood.
Last Friday a group of us from Rotary Sorrento, Mount Martha, Mount Eliza and Somerville Tyabb joined with Marita Fayle from The Portsea Camp, to site visit and hear more about the positive experiences these students will enjoy.
The Portsea Camp now in its 80th year is a truly amazing place and we will be hearing more about this opportunity in the coming months.
