From President Anne

Our visit from Peninsula Rotaract Club was inspiring, we welcomed Lily, Charlotte and Quinney who spoke enthusiastically about the projects their club is championing both here and in Nepal.

From a garden project at a mental health facility in Pokhara, Nepal to a mural in Kathmandu which will display Rotary’s 7 areas of focus plus a twin mural on our Peninsula to their local “Toothbrush, Toothpaste” project.

Our club was pleased to donate $250 of toothbrushes and toothpaste with more donations from our members.

Ritchies IGA 24.9.24

Tuesday saw us in the Village supporting the Ritchies IGA community day, we sizzled sausages and distributed bauble boards and the local community was delighted. We raised $430 and thank IGA for donating the sausages and bread.

Cambodia RAWCS visit

Merv and Chris Williams have registered on a Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) Volunteer Team to Cambodia.

The team consisting of 15 Rotarians and non-Rotarians will be travelling to Cambodia and will be assisting at two RAWCS Overseas Aid projects at community and children’s support centres in Phnom Penh and Seim Reap. These centres provide food, education and medical supplies to the street children.

As part of assisting these centres, the team members have been requested to seek donations of goods which will be taken over in our luggage and distributed to the children at these centres –
New Children’s clothing – size 0-10 – preferably shorts & T shirts.

Toys (small) which would actively benefit the children ie tennis balls - Pencils, writing books, erasers - Tooth-brushes & toothpaste.

Any donations would be appreciated, and we will have a collection box at our September meetings.
