The Mount Martha Rotary Club in partnership with Balcombe Grammar School have established a Rotary Interact Club which provides opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, participate in meaningful service projects, and build lifelong connections.
Rotary Interact Clubs are a vital part of the Rotary’s commitment to youth initiatives. Explicitly designed to empower young people aged 12 to 18.
By engaging in activities that promote personal growth and community impact, Interact members learn the importance of service above self while preparing for future leadership roles.
What Do Interact Clubs Do?
Interact Clubs are student-led and operate with high autonomy, though Rotary mentors support them. The clubs focus on service projects and leadership activities, which can include:
Community Service: Interact members identify local challenges and develop projects to address them. Hosting events to raise awareness about important issues.
International Service: Interact Clubs are encouraged to participate in international service projects to emphasize Rotary’s global reach. These projects involve fundraising for global initiatives, supporting disaster relief efforts.
Leadership Development: Interact members gain valuable skills through club activities, such as planning events, public speaking, teamwork, and problem-solving. These experiences prepare them to become leaders in their schools, communities, and future careers.
