DESCRIPTION:Chris Crewther MP is the Member for Mornington in the Victorian
  State Parliament\, serving as Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Justice 
 and Corrections\, Liberal Party Whip\, and member of the Legal and Social 
 Issues Committee. Previously\, Chris was a Member of the Australian Federa
 l Parliament from 2016-19. Chris was Chair of Parliament’s Foreign Affai
 rs and Aid Sub-Committee\, and the Australian Government’s Home Affairs 
 and Legal Affairs Policy Committee. Through these roles\, Chris instigated
  and led Parliament’s Modern Slavery Inquiry\, writing the recommendatio
 ns for the Inquiry’s 'Hidden in Plain Sight' report\, that then resulted
  in Australia’s Modern Slavery Act. For this work\, Chris was awarded an
  Anti-Slavery Australia Freedom Award in 2019\, and named amongst the 2018
  Global Top 100 Corporate Social Responsibility Influence Leaders. Prior t
 o being elected into the Victorian Parliament\, Chris was Head of Strategi
 c Partnerships for the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery. He was also a me
 mber of the Australian Government’s Modern Slavery Expert Advisory Group
 . Previously\, Chris has also been an international lawyer through the UN 
 in Kosovo\, CEO of Mildura Development Corporation\, a not-for-profit dire
 ctor\, and more. Chris has two masters’ degrees in International Law and
  Diplomacy from the Australian National University\, being awarded the pri
 ze for top student. He also has a Bachelor of Laws with Honours\, with a S
 cience Minor. Chris is also a Rotarian\, being a member of the Rotary Club
  of Frankston. Chris is married to Grace. They live in on the Mornington P
 eninsula with their two young kids\, Yasmin and Edward.
